What can I do if my sprinkler system isn't working properly?

Inspect the Controller & Review Settings

Ensure the irrigation timer is plugged into a working outlet and the display screen is on. Test the outlet with another device or check your home's circuit breaker.

Confirm that the date, time, and watering schedules are properly programmed on your timer.

Verify Water Valve & Electric Components

Make sure the main irrigation water shut-off valve and the backflow prevention device valves are fully open.

Loose or corroded wire connections at the controller or inside the valve box frequently stop a zone from firing. Tighten terminal screws and ensure waterproof wire connectors are intact.

Test Manual Activation

Turn the solenoid (the cylindrical piece on the valve box) a quarter turn counterclockwise to see if water flows to the zone. If water flows, the issue is electrical or coming from the controller. If no water flows, check for a closed shut-off valve or a blockage.

Check Nozzles and Sprinkler Heads

If the zone turns on but the heads barely rise or spray unevenly, lift the pop-up riser and clean out trapped dirt or sand from the nozzle filter.
